"A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
- Albert Einstein, German-born theoretical physicist and philosopher
Albert Einstein is my absolute hero. Not only was he a brilliant physicist and mathematician, but he was connected to this "oneness" (universe) from which he admits, during meditation, that he received his most brilliant ideas. The term "the penny dropped" meaning that understanding has just occurred, came from the experiences he had during meditation. He would hold a penny in his hand, and only when he was deep in meditation, in the deeply relaxed alpha state of mind, when the penny dropped out of his had, did inspiration happen.
Quantum physics has shown us that we are energy beings, part of this 'whole'. We are made up of molecules which in turn are made up of atoms. When one goes inside the atom, there is nothing there except empty space and vibrating energy.
