HOW TO PREPARE COFFEE for the Coffee Enema
Preparing the coffee:
Boil 3 level dessertspoons of Organic ground caffeinated coffee in filtered or
bottled water for about 3 minutes. Turn the heat down and simmer for a further
15 minutes. Filter the coffee water through a tea strainer / fine mesh sieve into a
measuring jug and make up to approx. 1litre / 2 pints of body temperature liquid
using bottled or filtered water only.
N.B. regular use of coffee enemas can deplete potassium and bowel flora so it is
important to replenish these if you are using coffee enemas regularly.
How to Do an ENEMA
First hang the enema bag about 2-3 feet from the ground – the
bathroom door handle is an ideal height.
Before filling the bag with the enema liquid, check that the liquid is
roughly body temperature and that the tap is CLOSED. Fill the bag
with the enema liquid. Then hold the tap end of the tube higher than
the bag and open the tap. Slowly lower the tube to below the height of
the bag to let the air out of the tube. You will see that it is filled with
enema liquid. Close the tap. This prevents air getting into the colon,
which would make it harder to hold the enema.
Lie on your RIGHT SIDE with knees towards your chest. (Make yourself
comfortable with a book or magazine and a pillow under your head!)
Try to keep the enema liquid held in for at least 12 - 15 minutes. If
you find that you can only manage to keep it in a short time, we can
reduce the strength and volume of the liquid next time and you can
slowly build up to the optimum amount.
Just remember that every enema will feel different and sometimes it is
easy to hold in and at other times not at all easy! If you feel any pain
or are finding it hard to retain the enema then massaging the colon /
lower abdomen area helps to disperse trapped wind and usually
relieves any pressure.
